Est. 2014 — Independent Film Studio

We make films that linger after the screen goes dark.

Lucid Movie is a director-led production house exploring memory, identity, and the spaces between image and meaning.

About

Founded in a darkroom. Built for the frame.

Lucid Movie began in 2014 when director Anya Korlov, a former cinematographer with a restless eye for the unsaid, gathered a circle of editors, sound designers, and writers in a converted Berlin loft. The studio was never meant to be a brand — only a place where image, memory, and narrative could meet without compromise.

From our first short, The Undertow, which premiered at Locarno and screened at over forty festivals, to our current slate of feature documentaries and hybrid fiction, the throughline has remained: cinema as an instrument of attention.

Our Values

Cinematic Intention

Every frame is composed before it is captured. We treat light, sound, and silence as collaborators, not afterthoughts.

Memory as Material

We build narratives from recollections, archives, and the gaps between what is remembered and what is true.

Director-Led Integrity

No committee, no algorithm. Each project carries the singular voice of its filmmaker, protected end to end.

We do not make films to be watched. We make them to be remembered — to settle quietly into a viewer long after the projector stops.

About

A working philosophy, not a manifesto.

We move slowly. We choose projects that resist easy translation. Our collaborators are writers, archivists, musicians, and image-makers who understand that cinema is a temporal art — that what is withheld matters as much as what is shown.

If you are a distributor, programmer, journalist, or fellow filmmaker looking for a press kit, full filmography, or interview requests, our team responds within 48 hours. We believe access is part of the craft.
